GSI Conducts Spectrum Seminar at IIJS 2015
GSI (Gemological Science International), one of the world’s largest Gemological laboratories and sponsor for the Spectrum Seminar Series, a four-day education series at the IIJS 2015, invites IIJS participants and visitors for their “The Bench Workshop on Inclusions in Natural and Man-Made Diamonds” conducted by GSI’s Head of Education, Ms. Vidhya Mazumdar on Saturday, 8th August at IIJS, Hall No. 1, Mezzanine floor from 2:00pm until 4:00pm.
This bench workshop is a ground level information session on the inclusions found in natural and man-made diamonds which will guide the industry including diamond and jewelry manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, traders and media to sort out stones that need to be sent for further testing. The main purpose of this bench workshop is to create awareness at the starting level of the industry. This workshop should prove beneficial even to traders working with small sized diamonds. The seminar will be followed by an intense FAQ session where various issues will be addressed with regards to man-made diamonds and their identification.
The Spectrum Seminar Series organized by GJEPC and sponsored by GSI hosts a series of industry experts during the four day education series entitled “Spectrum Seminar – Today’s Vision Tomorrow’s Reality”.

Debbie Azar is an experienced executive with extensive knowledge of the jewelry and gem lab industries. Her entrepreneurial skills and clarity of vision have helped GSI achieve rapid and continuous growth worldwide.
She began her industry career by starting her own successful costume jewelry business. She then expanded her knowledge of the industry with sales, marketing and business development roles at several companies. In 2005, she joined Mark Gershburg to establish GSI. Ms. Azar is an active member of myriad industry organizations and charities; she currently serves as a Board Member of Jewelers for Children. She is also a Forbes Business Council member.
Her strengths include working directly with retail chains and stores to help build their business and brands. She is widely known in the industry for her commitment to meeting customer needs.
