Botswana, February 2015 – Gemological Science International (GSI), one of the largest independently owned gemological laboratories in the world is pleased to announce that its Botswana laboratory is the first in Africa to use DiaMension™ Axiom in Africa. DiaMension™ Axiom is Sarine’s next generation high-end technology diamond scanner for measuring and modeling polished diamonds.
Ms. Debbie Azar, EVP, GSI, said, “We are proud to be the first user of the DiaMension™ Axiom. With its introduction, GSI can now detect the tiniest attributes and features of the diamond, such as facets’ pointing down to a microns level of accuracy.” Our clients will significantly benefit from one of the new capabilities offered by its products”, she added.
The DiaMension™ Axiom is the only scanner that enables fully automated cut & symmetry grading. Such innovative technology breaches the boundaries of the old Shadows modeling concept and limitations.
Uzi Levami, the chief executive of Sarine, stated, “After 25 years of 3D modeling based on shadows the DiaMension™ Axiom revolutionizes with new in-light direct modeling of real-time microscope analysis, detecting the tiniest imperfections of the diamond, such as facet Junctions.” “We are deeply honored that GSI, one of the largest laboratories in the world, has placed their trust in our products and consider it a privilege to continue to be their supplier of choice”, he added.
In 2005 Gemological Science International (GSI) was established in New York City as a full-service, high-tech lab designed specifically to meet the rapidly changing needs of the jewelry industry. With offices in the USA, India, Israel, and Belgium, it is currently one of the world’s largest and most technically advanced gem laboratories.
